WESTERN CANADA – EXPERIENCE & EXPLORE

1. Vancouver, Whistler & Victoria Adventure

Departs: Vancouver, from May to September

Explore British Columbia’s beautiful west coast, with the flexibility of doing

whatever you choose, but without the hassle of navigating your own

adventure. This ten night itinerary visits three locations; Vancouver, Whistler

and Victoria, and utilises three different modes of transport; floatplane,

motorcoach and ferry. Once in each location, we have included some of the

most popular sightseeing trips, but otherwise the time is your own to explore.

Should you prefer to take a floatplane between each location, or traverse it

entirely by land, this journey can be customised to meet your requirements.

Don’t want to keep packing up and moving around? Then why not base

yourself in Vancouver and simply take same-day return floatplane trips to

Victoria and Whistler?

2. Discover Victoria with Floatplanes & Whales

Departs: Vancouver, from April to October

This three day trip showcases the stunning scenery and wildlife of southern

Vancouver Island. Cruise across Georgia Strait, through the beautiful Gulf

Islands, to Vancouver Island where you take a tour of Butchart Gardens in

Victoria. On day two, it’s an exhilarating excursion in search of Orcas, minke

and grey whales, porpoises and other marine wildlife. Choose whether to

hop on-board a covered vessel, or be more adventurous and sample the

custom-built Zodiac. This second option offers a high speed experience, though

with extraordinary stability, for an exhilarating and intimate whale watching

adventure. Your transportation back to Vancouver is by floatplane, for a scenic,

aerial view of the coastal rainforests and awe-inspiring mountain peaks.

3. Tofino Boat Tours

Departs: Tofino, from March to October

Experts in sightseeing boat tours, Tofino Tours offers a wide range of unique

wildlife experiences, showcasing the beauty and diversity of Vancouver

Island’s eastern coastline. Relax on a 30 minute Coastal Bear Watch tour,

exploring the fjords of Clayoquot Sound, whilst watching the shores for

bears foraging for food in the intertidal zone. For marine enthusiasts, a

whale watching tour of Clayoquot Sound makes an ideal choice, offering the

opportunity of searching for grey, humpback and killer whales, in addition

to sea lions, sea birds and the resident bald eagles. Both tours are taken on

covered vessels, for a safe and comfortable journey. Should you wish to

test your fishing skills, Tofino Tours also offer a Clayoquot Sound fishing

expedition. Expertise is not required as the tour remains close to shore,

allowing even the most novice fisherman an opportunity to hook salmon,

cod or rock fish.

4. Meares Island Sea Kayaking

Departs: Tofino, from April to October

Launching from Tofino, the west coast wilderness sits just a short paddle

across the harbour. At one with your sea kayak, this voyage of discovery takes

you into the quiet inlets and amongst the ancient coastal rainforest of

Clayoquot Sound, surrounding you with spell-binding scenery and amazing

wildlife. On arrival at Meares Island, land the kayaks ready for a short hike into

the rainforest. Native giant cedar trees accompany the trek to the small

village of Opitsaht, which is rich in native history.
