1. Canadian Photo Adventures
Departs: Banff and Jasper, from June to October
A photo adventure provides a unique way of learning photography skills
from award-winning professional photographers, whilst exploring some
of the most beautiful locations in the Canadian Rockies. Small group sizes
allow a large amount of topics to be covered, including depth of field,
composition, light exposure and focus, along with post production techniques
and printing tips and tricks. A three day adventure is available for all skill
levels, though it is primarily aimed at moderately skilled amateurs or new
professionals, and includes learning how to take photos of scenery, wildlife
and at night, when you don’t have the benefit of natural light. Tours include
deluxe accommodation as well as breakfast and lunch daily. An advanced
six day adventure is ideal for the more experienced photographer as it is
predominently of a more technical nature.
2. CMH Heli-Hiking Adventures
Departs: Banff, from July to September
Widely regarded as the ultimate outdoor experience, a heli-hiking adventure
envelops you in pristine wilderness. Choose a three night experience staying
at Bugaboo Lodge or Bobbie Burns Lodge; both unique, rustic lodges nestled
in remote locations 180 and 194 kilometres west of Banff respectively, or a
six night combination of both properties. A helicopter flight takes you high
into the Columbia Mountain Range over lakes, glaciers, meadows and forests
to commence your daily hike in the safe supervision of a dedicated and
professional guide. Choose a classic hike, a high-flying adventure or a specially
designed family experience.
3. Vancouver Foodie Tours
Departs: Vancouver, from January to December
Providing a unique introduction to the city, and the international
influences which create its gastronomic treats, Vancouver Foodie Tours
operate a choice of four walking tours. Choose from Guilty Pleasures
Gourmet Tour, Granville Island Market Tour, Gastronomic Gastown Tour
and World’s Best Food Truck Tour, each ranging from two to three hours.
Whether feasting your way through the heart of downtown Vancouver,
skipping the lines at Vancouver’s best food trucks, sampling some of the
freshest market produce and the creative ways in which it is utilised or
touring hidden restaurant gems generally only frequented by locals, the
menus will be incredible and the experience memorable.
4. Alpine Helicopter Tours
Departs: Canmore, Kelowna and Drumheller, from May to November
Some of the most dramatic views of Western Canada can only be
experienced from the sky. Alpine Helicopters have been operating scenic
flights for over 50 years. They offer exemplary service and a choice of
tours from three locations. Take in breathtaking views of the Rocky
Mountains on a departure from Canmore, the stunning lakefront wineries
when departing from Kelowna and scenic tours of the Alberta Badlands
