EASTERN CANADA – EXPERIENCE & EXPLORE

1. Haunted Walks

Departs: Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston, from January to December

Ghosts, graveyards, hangings and haunts, Haunted Walks take you on

spine-tingling ghost stories around Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston. Prepare to

be chilled to the bone with stories of haunted theatres, wrongful hangings,

trickster ghosts, duels to the death, hidden burial grounds and distressed

spirits. Generally taking between one and two hours, each location offers a

choice of tours, each with a different theme, and each pertinent to the city.

In Ottawa, choose from the Original Haunted Walk, The Great Ghost

Adventure, Crime and Punishment Jail Tour or Ghosts and Gallows. The

historic city of Kingston has a fabled past which can be discovered on the

Original Haunted Walk. Alternatively, you can hear the eerie tales of Fort

Henry on Ghosts of the Fort. Toronto’s Ghosts and Spirits of the Distillery

tour takes place on its cobblestone streets, whilst the Original Haunted Walk

showcases theatrical hauntings and unsolved mysteries.

2. 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours

Departs: Gananoque, from January to December

There is no better way of viewing the spectacular Thousand Islands than

from the skies. Feel the excitement as you gently take flight, accompanied by

personal narration of the region shared by your experienced pilot. Ranging

in duration from ten minutes to an hour, choose from five tours each

showcasing a different aspect of the area. For a longer experience, try one

of the packages which include helicopter flights and ground arrangements.

Prince Edwards County Wine Package, Maple Syrup Package, UNESCO Discovery

Tour and Ice Fishing by Helicopter, each offers a unique experience.

3. Hornblower Cruises & Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours

Departs: Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, from April to November

Discover Niagara Falls your way, with two distinctly different options for

getting out onto the water. Experience the awesome power, thundering

water and amazing mist from the comfort of a state-of-the-art Catamaran

boat with Hornblower Cruises. Featuring tiered decks for unobstructed

360 degree views, this is the most popular tour in Niagara Falls. Evening

cruises which showcase Niagara Falls illuminated by night, featuring an

onboard bar and music, are also available. Alternatively, take a scenic and

exhilarating ride down Niagara Gorge and the white water of Devils Hole

Rapids to the Whirlpool, just a half mile from the tumbling rapids of Niagara

Falls, with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours. Departing from Niagara-on-the-Lake,

the enclosed Jet Dome boat thrills its passengers on a bouncy ride, but the

more adventurous must try the Wet Jet with added splash.

4. OWL Whitewater Rafting

Departs: Forester Falls, from May to September

Northwest of the nation’s capital, the Ottawa River surges across Canadian

Shield country. This is a path forged by First Nations, traversed by fur traders

since the 1600s and fostered by foresters at the turn of the last century.

Today you can visit for a white-water adventure, enjoying a day-long rafting

experience through the dynamic Rocher Fendu Rapids. With options available

to suit everyone, choose a gentle family friendly float which meanders calmly

down the river, or pick an adrenaline ride on the high-adventure white-water

tour which can see up to Class IV rapids.
