Gettysburg

In the heart of Central Pennsylvania lies historic Gettysburg. Just 10 miles from PA’s southern border it is in close proximity to many metropolitan areas like Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.

Gettysburg is steeped in history, which includes the Gettysburg Battlefield. Be sure to visit the 6’000 acre Civil War military park by horse, Segway, carriage, bus or from your own car. Experience the outdoors in Gettysburg, enjoy horseback riding, biking, hiking or a round of golf.

Spend time strolling the streets of Gettysburg for eclectic shops with hand-made artistic offerings, amazing art, Civil War artifacts, and tasting rooms.

Harrisburg

The capital of the Commonwealth, Harrisburg is situated along the banks of the Susquehanna River. The ornate dome of the Capitol dominates the skyline; when the structure was dedicated in 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt said, “It’s the handsomest building I ever saw.” Visitors can tour this historic structure and marvel at its sheer size: the structure covers five and a half acres. The Rotunda, a copy of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica, rises 272 feet.

Visitors can also take in performances at the Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival, attend a Harrisburg Senators baseball game, or check out the Susquehanna Museum of Art. Every year, the Pennsylvania Farm Show delights 400,000 locals and tourists with exhibits, competitions, and plenty of food. It is the largest indoor agricultural event in the country.

Lancaster

Lancaster and Pennsylvania Dutch country is a fascinating destination to explore. Visitors will get a glimpse of farm life as it was in the early 1800s.

Here you’ll discover Amish communities where life moves at a slower pace and centers around time-honored traditions and values. The oldest Amish settlement in America is in Lancaster. Tour Amish exhibits and homesteads or take a tour in an Amish buggy through the back countryside past Amish farms, and learn about their way of life.

In addition to Lancaster’s boutiques, vintage shops, and art galleries (Gallery Row), there is the Park City Center the largest enclosed shopping center in South Central Pennsylvania. Central Market built in 1889, it is the oldest continuously run farmers market in the United States is well worth a visit too.

Hershey

Located 90 minutes from Baltimore and Philadelphia, Hershey is the sweetest place on earth! Hershey is the home of Hershey chocolate.

Start your visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World where you will learn about the history behind the chocolate and watch as the cocoa bean is transformed into a chocolate bar. You can even create your own! Take the Hershey Trolley around town and see the birthplace of Mr. Hershey, the original chocolate factory, Highpoint Mansion, KISS streetlights and more all commented by singing trolley conductors.

Overlooking the town of Hershey, Hershey Gardens features a breathtaking assortment of flowers and shrubs, a stately collection of rare, signature trees, and various programs designed to delight visitors of all ages.
