Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz & San Martin

Half Moon Bay

Located approximately 30 minutes south of San Francisco in the Bay Area, Half Moon Bay boasts an unrivaled combination of charm and natural beauty. Stroll through the picturesque old fashioned town with its quaint craft alleys, galleries, antique barns, floral boutiques and sidewalk cafés.  Half Moon Bay is filled with local cafes and bakeries, Oceanside restaurants, cozy pubs as well as award winning restaurants. There really is a choice for everyone.

There are many beautiful Northern California beaches and parks in the Half Moon Bay area. Being located along the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, one of our nation’s most spectacular marine protected areas, you’ll have no trouble finding places to explore during your trip to the coast. There are two beautiful golf courses set one the bluffs of the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking views and where ocean breezes inspire the senses and the game.

While Napa Valley is a popular choice for wine tasting, a more intimate, yet equally notable, experience can be had just south of our Half Moon Bay. The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to more than 70 vineyards and wineries from labels including David Bruce, Bonny Doon and Cinnabar.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz, located on the northern edge of Monterey Bay 75 miles south of San Francisco and 32 miles from San Jose boasts redwood forests and a stunning coastline and is known as one of America’s surfing capitals. Santa Cruz County beaches offer the perfect setting for seaside fun. Whether you enjoy surfing, playing beach volleyball, or hiking along the coastal bluffs. Spend the day sailing, kayaking, surfing, paddling or head out further into the ocean for a fishing trip or whale watching. Spend some time with the kids enjoying the amusements on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with over 35 rides, restaurants, and shopping.

Santa Cruz County is one of the few places where a trail can begin in a redwood forest and end on the beach. Hiking trails wind past majestic old-growth redwoods and graceful waterfalls at Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Wilder Ranch State Park, and Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Santa Cruz County has 14 state parks in all, including Natural Bridges State Beach, and Manresa State Beach. With over 70 wineries and tasting rooms, the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation is one of the oldest wine regions in the United States, known for award-winning Pinot Noir and other wines. From quaint shops in downtown Santa Cruz to specialty shops in Capitola Village and the Capitola Mall beyond town to antique shopping in Soquel Village and Aptos, there is something for everyone. Check out a hip bistro serving modern California cuisine, a neighborhood café, a sunny outdoor terrace with a view of the Monterey Bay, or a gourmet fine dining restaurant. You will be spoiled for choice.

San Martin

San Martin is located 30 miles south of San Jose and 15 miles inland from the Pacific Coast, bounded by the Santa Cruz mountains and the Diablo Range in California’s wine country.  The surrounding area offers a plethora of vineyards so be sure to stop by one of them at least for a wine tasting.

Enjoy a round of golf with stunning views, dramatic contours and elevation changes in the Northern California hillsides, canyons and meadows. Just an hour south of San Martin is pretty Carmel-by-the-Sea offering a host of exquisite art galleries and shops among its stone-paved alleyways.
