Arrivals & Departures
- Set travel days are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays, with arrivals and departures taking place in the late afternoon and evening.
- To get to Nimmo Bay guests can fly to Port Hardy from Vancouver (1-hour flight) and then board a floatplane or helicopter to travel to the resort (20-minute fight).
- Guests may also choose to fly directly to Nimmo Bay by floatplane from Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle or Tofino.
Accommodation
This is an intimate resort of just nine spacious yet cosy cabins, each with a breathtaking view of the exceptionally beautiful bay. Each two bedroomed cabin features a comfortable living area, Bose iPod docking station and bathrobes. Choose one of the six Intertidal Cabins and during high tide you will be sleeping above the Nimmo Islet waters, or one of the three Stream Side Cabins and find yourself falling to sleep to the sounds of a cascading waterfall.
What To Expect At The Resort
- Built in harmony with nature, half of the resort is floating in the peaceful bay, while the other half is grounded on a small out-cropping of land.
- There are 6 cabins situated along the waterfront (intertidal cabins) and 3 cabins located next to the waterfall and stream (forest cabins). All cabins have 2 bedrooms, with various sleeping arrangements, a bathroom, living area, and balcony.
- The lodge, kitchen, fitness room and fire dock are all floating and accessed by a tidal walkway.
- At the heart of the Nimmo Bay lies a cascading waterfall which provides clean drinking water and natural hydro-energy. At the base of the waterfall is a natural plunge pool, 2 cedar-sided hot tubs and a heated rain shower.
- Nimmo Bay offers guests 2 beautiful treatment spaces for massage – alongside the waterfall and stilted above the beach. There is also a dedicated yoga studio.
- A short boat ride or paddle away, guests can escape to a floating, wood-fired sauna.
Facilities
Try your hand at fishing, heli-hiking, kayaking, snorkelling or rock climbing, or take a whale watching or bear viewing expedition. The lodge also features two hot tubs positioned beside a cascading waterfall, a floating dock lounge with cosy armchairs, blankets and fire pit and a fitness and Yoga studio. Fresh, coastal homemade cuisine is on the menu along with some of the province’s best wines.
