The 120-mile-long Florida Keys island chain, linked to mainland Florida by U.S.1, the Overseas Highway is a magical and tropical retreat. You’ll find secluded beaches, fabulous deep-sea fishing and amazing dive sites.  The Florida Keys are teeming with activities and things to do for visitors of all ages and interests. Your time in the Keys can be as action-packed and thrilling or relaxed and low-key as you desire.

Adventure-seekers can test the water, and their skills, on a fishing charter for prized game fish. Get up with tropical fish on a snorkel trip, or dive to explore a ship wreck on the ocean floor. Visit local art galleries and museums and shop for unique gifts. Feast on fresh seafood at fine restaurants, or just relax in a hammock suspended between two palms. Simply unwind and let go with the outgoing tide

The Keys

Key Largo

The first of the Florida Keys, Key Largo offers some of the most spectacular scuba diving in the continental U.S. Being the largest key, it is home to multiple county and state parks, fantastic offshore and backcountry fishing, and just a stone’s throw from the mainland and Everglades National park.

Islamorada

Tavernier Creek separates Key Largo from Islamorada, also referred to as the purple isle. Islamorada also offers a stunning reef line for scuba diving but is better known for it’s offshore and backcountry fishing.

Marathon

Marathon is located in the heart of the Florida Keys, approximately 50 miles north of Key West and 50 miles south of Key Largo. Visit the Dolphin Research Center, Turtle Hospital, Crane Hammock Point or Sombrero Beach. Cruise the seven-mile bridge (where the movie True Lies was filmed) or take to the water for a cruise around the Middle Keys.

Lower Keys

Visit the Lower Keys which is truly back to nature with the endangered tiny Key deer. Take a bicycle tour on Sugarloaf Key or Bahia Honda Key to see them. Include a dive or snorkel trip to Looe Key reef, kayaking the backcountry, offshore and backcountry fishing or basking in the sun at Bahia Honda State Park. This park has made the list of top 10 beaches in the U.S. Its stunning white sand gives way to the gin clear waters lapping on its shoreline.

Key West

Key West is most often referred to as the Southernmost city in the continental U.S. Located only 90 miles from Cuba and 100 miles from Key Largo, their is something for everyone on this 5 mile island.

Key West has been home to such notables as Ernest Hemingway from 1931 to 1961. Today his property is open to the public, as is the maritime museum of Mel Fisher and many other writers, actors and explorers. The Harry S. Truman Little White House is open to the public for tours. Key West brims with colour, variety and excitement. The island is a mixture of the galleries, museums, theaters, restaurants, shops, bars and entertainers. It is an eclectic mix of old and modern architecture. Duval street is well known, and so are the daily sunset celebrations.
