Grand Junction, De Beque & Glenwood Springs

Just a few hours west of Denver, Grand Junction offers awe-inspiring natural beauty and the dramatic red rock landscape of the Colorado National Monument and is also Colorado’s Wine Country. Shaded by the majestic beauty of the red rock cliffs and mesas that surround Grand Junction and Palisade, the Grand Valley is home to more than 20 wineries and vineyards that serve up some of Colorado’s best wines. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy a summer afternoon wine tasting.

De Beque, a quaint and historic town, nestled along the Colorado River and Roan Plateau, is located 25 miles east of Grand Junction, and 212 miles west of Denver and is the home to the wild horse.

Grand Junction

Outdoor activities like hiking, biking, rafting, and fishing are popular pastimes at spots like the Colorado National Monument, which celebrates its centennial in 2016 but starts aleady in summer 2015. The monument boasts canyons as deep as 500 feet and rock monoliths as tall as 450 feet. Rim Rock Drive is a popular and challenging road-biking route, and the longest tunnel is 530 feet long.

Grand Junction’s Main Street has thrived for decades, bringing together art-lovers, adventure-seekers and foodies to enjoy a beautiful oasis in the mountain desert. It is the perfect place for shopping, dining or enjoying a drink between days spent exploring the Grand Mesa National Forest and the Colorado National Monument.

De Beque

De Beque is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise,with magnificent western Colorado landscapes and mild climate to hike, bike, fish, or horseback ride.

Visit Little Bookcliffs Wild Horse Range. Comprising 36.000+ acres of canyons and plateaus, it is home to the wild horses who roam its hills. The horses are used to people and so present many photo opportunities. In the spring and early summer, foals may often beseen with their mothers. Trails for riding are abundant.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs is a picturesque town renowned for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. Located in the Rocky Mountains, it is famous for its geothermal hot springs, including the world’s largest hot springs pool at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. The town also offers a variety of attractions such as the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, which features cave tours and thrill rides, and the scenic Hanging Lake, a crystal-clear mountain lake known for its stunning waterfalls.

Glenwood Springs serves as a gateway to numerous outdoor activities including hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing in the nearby Sunlight Mountain Resort.
