Thomasville, Albany & Valdosta

Set apart from many tourist destinations because of its award-winning downtown and preserved historical fabric, Thomasville is truly worth the trip. Known as Georgia’s Rose City, Thomasville showcases more than 1,500 blooms in the Thomasville Rose Garden and celebrates the flowers every spring during the Rose Show & Festival. The festival has been a southwest Georgia tradition since 1922. Other must-sees include The Big Oak, a live oak tree that is more than 327 years old, the Jack Hadley Black History Museum, and the Taste of Thomasville Food Tour.

Albany

Watch Ray Charles play the piano. Divine climate conditions, or get an eyeful of the universe and come face to face with creatures of the deep. You can do all of that and more in Albany, located on the Flint River in southwest Georgia.

With a lively lineup of attractions – Chehaw Park; Thronateeska Heritage Centre with Wetherbee Planetarium, Science Discovery Centre and Museum of History; the Flint RiverQuarium and Imagination Theatre – Albany transports visitors to good times. Visit the Art Museum of Albany, Theatre Albany, beautiful parks and trails, and Radium Springs Gardens, one of Georgia’s seven natural wonders.

Valdosta

Okefenokee

Located in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, the Okefenokee Swamp Park is a convenient point of entry and a magnificent shop window for this natural wonderland.

Reflective waters mirroring the overhanging beauty lead to all points in this vast wilderness of islands, lakes, jungles, forests and prairies.
