Fairmont Palliser, CalgaryAn early start as you travel from Calgary, through Kootenay National Park to the small mountain town of Invermere. During your two nights in Invermere, we suggest you spend your time exploring the beautiful Canadian Rockies and Kootenay National Park. Only a short drive from the town and you will find Fairmont Hot Springs along with a host of other activities such as Whitewater rafting, quad bike tours and horse riding. Other options you may wish to includes are the Marble Canyon Trail, Stanley Glacier Trail and Radium Hot Springs whose mineral rich waters which sit at 37-40 degrees Celsius.

Copper Point Resort, InvermereToday you set off to Revelstoke, a journey taking you through both Glacier and Mount Revelstoke National Parks. Make sure to take time to detour and visit the Yoho National Park en route and see Emerald Lake and Takkakaw Falls. Once settled your two days can be enjoyed as you wish. We suggests visits back to Glacier and Revelstoke National Parks for a fuller exploration. At Glacier National Park take one of the shorter trails to Marion Lake offering amazing views over Rogers Pass. For similarly amazing views at Revelstoke you can drive the 26km Meadows in the Sky Parkway – which snakes back and forth up Revelstoke Mountain. In Revelstoke itself, why not ride the Mountaincoaster for amazing views of the landscape, or take a mountain walk, bike ride or even rope climb.

Sutton Place Hotel, RevelstokeAfter your scenic drive from Revelstoke to the old railroad town of Kamloops, be sure to take a short ride on the steam locomotive to explore the city and its beautiful surroundings. Alternatively, take a guided heritage tour, hearing stories of train robbers and local artists whilst taking in the historic buildings that make up this city. For incredible panoramic views over Kamloops Lake and Thompson River Valley, hike or take a walking tour up to Battle Bluff. In the evening we suggest sampling the seasonal brews created at the Noble Pig Brew or Red Collar Brewing Co.

The Plaza, KamloopsThis morning you will make your way to the vibrant resort of Whistler. Although renowned in the winter for it’s ski, this is a wonderful place to be in the warmer months. Choose from a wealth of exhilarating activities including a tour of Olympic Park (home to the winter Olympics), a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola, zip-lining through the wooded hills and hiking the alpine trails. For a spot of culture, visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre to see the arts and crafts of the First Nations people. Whistler also offers tasting tours and wildlife experiences including bear watching.
Hilton WhistlerThe Sunshine Coast is a quick ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay (located north of Vancouver). Although it’s part of the mainland, this stretch of mountain-backed coastline is only accessible by sea or air, and has the quiet pace of an island. Boating among the coastal fjords, touring studios and galleries, beachcombing, golfing, hiking the Sunshine Coast Trail, kayaking, and fishing are draws to the area. Your base for the next two nights is at West Coast Wilderness Lodge enjoying their Signature Getaway Package. Take in the incredible inlet and ocean views from this lodge which is perched high on the cliffside. By day, explore the wild surroundings by helicopter, boat or floatplane, going beyond the cedar and fir forests to spot wildlife as well as witness the natural phenomenon of Skookumchuch Rapids, which are the fastest salt water rapids in North America.
West Coast Wilderness Lodge, EgmontOnce you tear yourself away from the lodge, you’ll make the journey to Vancouver Island and the small town of Parksville, which is surrounded by stunning coastline. Unlike the rugged west coast, here you will find long sandy beaches with calm waters. Try Rathtrevor and Qualicum beach which are firm favourites. Take time away from the sands on a visit to nearby Coombs Old Country Market, which has a delicious Italian theme and a quirky reputation for the goats which live on the roof.

You have two nights to explore to your hearts content. Choose whether to visit Butchart Gardens which is located 20 minutes outside the city but well worth the effort, the Parliament Buildings which provide beautiful photos when lit by night, or the Royal BC Museum where you can learn of the areas natural and human history. Don’t forget to take a whale watching tour from Fisherman’s Wharf, during which other wildlife such as porpoise, dolphins and seals are often spotted. The more adventurous may enjoy sea kayaking or perhaps taking a bike tour of the city.

We’ve included two full free day for you to explore Vancouver, and there is plenty to keep you entertained. Visit Stanley Park covering over a thousand acres, historic Gastown, with its myriad of shopping and dining options, and perhaps take a trip out of the city to Grouse Mountain or the Capilano Suspension Bridge. This cosmopolitan city has great nightlife too for the young, or young at heart.
